Job Description

Konnichiwa! Are you ready to immerse yourself in a world of tranquillity and exceptional hospitality? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Representative at our front desk to join our team at our traditional Japanese Bath House. If you have a passion for providing outstanding customer service and enjoy working in a culturally enriching environment, this role is perfect for you!

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-opening tasks involve setting up key areas such as entrance, reception, tea room, private bath, and accommodations. Ensure all facilities are checked to ensure a smooth daily operation.
  • Welcome guests with a warm and friendly demeanour as they arrive at our serene bath house.
  • Provide safety orientations and explain bathhouse procedures to ensure a pleasant and safe experience for all guests.
  • Guide guests through the bath house facilities, ensuring they have everything they need for a relaxing visit.
  • Assist in serving meals in our tea room, paying close attention to traditional presentation and service.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly reception area to uphold our high standards of cleanliness.
  • Handle guest inquiries and reservations with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with our dedicated team members to ensure smooth operations across all areas of the bath house.
  • Additional tasks as required to support the overall guest experience.

Requirements (Friday – Sunday Only):

  • Be able to work on Friday through to Sunday and Monday only on a long weekend 
  • Ability to speak some Japanese is preferred, as it enhances our guests’ experience.
  • Fluency in English or the ability to carry a basic conversation with guests.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing exceptional service.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Fast learner and team player who enjoys working collaboratively.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is a plus
  • Be flexible to do shift work range from early mornings to late night and endure long hours in a fast pace environment when required
  • Must have own transportation as we are set on a regional area

Gardener & General Maintenance

Job Description:

We are seeking a healthy and fit individual to join our team as general maintenance personnel. The role is very important as it involves a variety of tasks including cleaning, gardening, general maintenance, and handyman duties to ensure our bath house and surrounding areas are in pristine condition.

Weekday Responsibilities 

  • Checking and testing water quality on a daily basis
  • General maintenance around the property, including repairing, gardening, repainting etc
  • Handyman tasks and gardening jobs as assigned and required

Weekend Responsibilities (During Opening Hours):

  • Pre-opening cleaning of all outdoor facilities and garden maintenance
  • General upkeep of accommodation and other area within our premises 

Requirements:

  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and a dedicated work ethic and craftsmanship.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Strong team players with a positive and can-do attitude.
  • Physical stamina and fit and able to lift and carry heavy supplies & equipment as needed.
  • Ability to perform physical labour and work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Be flexible to do shift work range from early mornings to late night and endure long hours in a fast pace environment when required
  • Own transportation is essential and must have a valid Australian Open driver’s licence or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential as training can be provided.

Position Overview:

We are seeking dedicated and meticulous individuals to join our team as Housekeeping Staff at our esteemed Japanese bath house. As a member of our housekeeping team, you will play a vital role in maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and a welcoming atmosphere throughout our facilities. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will ensure that every guest enjoys a pristine and comfortable environment. 

Responsibilities:

– Perform daily cleaning tasks according to established standards and procedures.

– Clean and sanitise guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas.

– Ensure all assigned areas are well-maintained, including floors, surfaces, and amenities.

– Monitor and replenish supplies, such as towels, toiletries, and cleaning products.

– Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.

– Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned.

– Uphold high standards of cleanliness and hygiene to create a positive guest experience.

Requirements (Wednesday to Sunday):

– Be able to work from Wednesday through to Sunday on roster

– Full working rights in Australia

– Background knowledge of Japanese culture

– Proven experience in housekeeping or a similar role is preferred.

– Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.

– Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

– Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

– Excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.

– Ability to communicate effectively with team members and management.

– Physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.

Cancellations

Day Visit & Treatment Package Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change unexpectedly and we will always do our best to assist where possible. To ensure fairness for all guests and to maintain the smooth operation of our services, please review our cancellation policy below:

Japanese Bath House Cancellation Policy

  1. INTRODUCTION

(a) This policy set out the cancellation policy of JBH BLUE MOUNTAINS PTY LTD ABN 70 681 701 388 trading as “Japanese Bath House” (Japanese Bath House, our, we, or us) for bookings made by you(being the individual, company or legal person purchasing our services) (you, your) for our services including Day Visits, Treatment Packages and Accommodation Bookings (Bookings).

(b) You will have been taken to have accepted this policy by making a Booking whether made online, via email, in-person or otherwise by making payment for our services.

(c) We understand that your plans can change unexpectedly and we will do our best to assist with modifying your Booking where possible. However, as a small business, this policy is necessary to help ensure fairness to all guests and to maintain smooth operation of our business.

(d) If you wish to make any changes, modifications, or cancellations (Changes) to any Booking, you must contact us via email. For the purposes of determining the time that you made the request for a Change to your Booking, we will deem your request to have been made at the time that we received your request (e.g. when we receive your email or in person query)

2. DAY VISIT & TREATMENT PACKAGES

(a) This clause applies to all Bookings for Day Visits & Treatment Packages, including access to our bath house, treatments, or Private Buro (but does not include any packages which include accommodation) (Day Booking).

(b) To the extent permitted by law, for any Changes to your Day Booking:

(i) More than 48 hours prior to the start of your Day Booking: We will charge a $30 administration fee per Change (including changing the date or time of your Day Booking).

(ii) Less than 48 hours but more than 24 hours prior to the start of your Day Booking: You cannot make any Changes to your Day Booking during this time. If you wish to cancel your Day Booking (including if you want to rebook), we will charge a fee of 50% of the fees paid for your Day Booking. The remaining 50% of the fees will be refunded to you via your original payment method.

(iii) Less than 24 hours prior to your Day Booking: You cannot make any Changes to your Day Booking during this time. If you wish to cancel your Day Booking (including if you want to rebook), we will charge a fee of 100% of the fees paid for your Day Booking.

(c) You may transfer your Day Booking into the name of another guest for the same services for the same date and time. We will not charge an administration fee for this type of request.

(d) If you do not attend your Day Booking at the specified date or time (including if you arrive too late for us to complete the services included in your Day Booking), you will not be provided with a refund and you will need to pay to rebook your Day Booking.

3. ACCOMMODATION CANCELLATION

(a) This clause applies to all Bookings which include overnight accommodation at our property, including where that Booking is inclusive of other services such as treatments or bath house access (Accommodation Booking).

(b) To the extent permitted by law, for any Changes to your Accommodation Booking:

(i) More than 5 days prior to the start of your Accommodation Booking: We will charge a $30 administration fee per Change to your Accommodation Booking (including changing the date or time of your Accommodation Booking).

(ii) Less than 5 days but more than 24 hours prior to the start of your Accommodation Booking: You cannot make any Changes to your Accommodation Booking during this time. If you wish to cancel your Accommodation Booking (including if you want to rebook), we will charge a fee of 50% of the fees paid for your Accommodation Booking. The remaining 50% of the fees will be refunded to you via your original payment method.

(iii) Less than 24 hours prior to your Accommodation Booking: You cannot make any Changes to your Accommodation Booking during this time. If you wish to cancel (including if you want to rebook), we will charge a fee of 100% of the fees paid for your Accommodation Booking.

(c) For the avoidance of doubt, after you make your Accommodation Booking, you cannot change the number of attendees for that Booking. For example, if you book a package for 2 people, we cannot provide a refund if only 1 person is able to attend.

(d) If you do not attend your Accommodation Booking at the specified date or time (including if you arrive too late for us to complete the services included in your Accommodation Booking), you will not be provided with a refund and you will need to pay to rebook your Accommodation Booking.

Private bath packages have a minimum of 2 people, all prices are based on 2 people.
